Mr Barry Nigel Solé has been involved in Education for 38 years, of which 31 years has been as Principal of South African and International Schools/Academies and Colleges.
He believes that all children can learn, but each student in a different way and at a different rate. He enjoys the challenges of Education, working with Educators, Parents and Students to optimize the learning atmosphere, staff development and in promoting a safe environment.
He has introduced the British (IGSCE/A-Levels and University Foundation Phase), SAT (American) and International Baccalaureate (PYP, MYP, IB) Curricula to International Schools in Nigeria, Malawi, Pakistan and India. His proven Academic and Administration record has been well documented.
He is a believer in open, honest communication and an advocate for children. He says that there is no more precious gift, no greater miracle ever created, than another human being. It is the Principal and Parents moral responsibility to work together to raise children in the truth and love of God.
Mr Solé is a very visible Principal and his Management style is visiting students in all areas of the College. He gets to know every student. His motto is: “Stay positive, maintain communication and do the right thing.”
He is an Educational Ambassador of the 21st Century Skills “teaching the child and not the subject” which involves experiential learning strategies that foster critical thinking.
His hope is that all students attending Machabeng College will be successful in life, having the opportunity to follow their dreams. The keys to success are setting goals, hard work and showing kindness and respect to others.
He and his wife are looking forward to meeting all of the wonderful families that make up Machabeng College. Together, we will continue to move the students of Machabeng College onward and upward, as they reach their own milestones and we celebrate their success!
